Messier 84 (also known as M84 or NGC 4374) and Messier 86 (also known
as M86 or NGC 4406) are elliptical or lenticular galaxies in the constellation
Virgo. They are situated in the heavily populated inner core of the Virgo
Cluster of galaxies.
M84 distance is about 60 million light-years and M86 about 52 million
light-years.
M84 is towards West (right), M86 towards East. M86 has a very diffuse
companion.
Also visible: NGC 4402 (North) with nice colors and a dark lane, and NGC 4387
(South between M84 and M86).
