NGC 70 is a member of a compact group of galaxies, sometimes called the NGC 70
group, at a distance of 300 million light years.
Group members with NGC numbers are NGC 67, NGC 68, NGC 69, NGC 70, NGC 71, NGC
74 and NGC 76 (see finder chart below). At least 12 other very distant galaxies
are visible on this image, each of them comprising several billion stars.
