NGC 80 is a member of a group of galaxies, called the NGC 80 group, at a distance of about 255 million light years. Group members with NGC numbers are NGC 79, NGC 80, NGC 81, NGC 83, NGC 84, NGC 85, NGC 86, NGC 91, NGC 93, NGC 94  (see finder chart below). Other very distant galaxies are visible on this image, each of them comprising several billion stars.
